Beliefs

We are a Christian church in the Presbyterian/Reformed tradition. We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God created everything including human beings and called it good. However, women and men have broken relationship with God through disobediance to the laws set up by God for our good. But God is loving and merciful and reaches out to women and men by his grace in Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ fully God and fully man. He is the only Savior of the world who died on a cross for the payment of sins and resurrected from the grave. He is alive today sitting at the right hand of God the Father. Salvation is only through our yielding to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We learn about God, his character, his love and grace for all and about the Church through the Holy Scriptures, God's Word, the Bible. The Church Universal is the body of Jesus Christ on earth. In addition to gathering for worship, the Sacraments and nurture, Jesus commissioned the Church for mission, to go into all the world and make disciples baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We do this empowered by the Holy Spirit who gives us the tools by which we can fulfill the Mission God has commanded.

We look forward to the second coming of Jesus Christ when all evil, sickness, disease and death will end and Christ will usher in a new heaven and a new earth. Until then we live by the grace and love of God who daily transforms our former lives to better reflect our Lord Jesus Christ. Even though we are not a perfect church we are striving to be more Christ-like with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Our Mission Statement is a summary of our calling and purpose:

Glorify God, encourage commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and prepare all to serve Him.
